Yunnan White Tea, known as Tao Cai Bai Cha (or Yunnan Bai Hao), is a unique variety of tea harvested in Yunnan Province. It has a mild and delicate taste, as well as a high concentration of nutrients due to minimal processing. This tea can be brewed several times, which makes it economical and convenient to consume.

Appearance and fragrance

Yunnan Bai Hao is characterized by large leaves and buds covered with white lint. Its infusion has a transparent golden color with a delicate warm aroma reminiscent of young tea buds.

Taste and properties

The taste of this tea is soft, buttery and full-bodied, with floral shades and a slight sweetness. It has a refreshing effect and can help relieve stress as well as improve mental clarity. Due to the high content of vitamins and trace elements, white tea helps strengthen the immune system and normalize metabolism.

The brewing process

It is recommended to use water no higher than 80 °C for brewing. For a 150 ml gaiwan, you should take a tablespoon of tea, infusing the first infusions for no more than 20 seconds. Tea can be brewed up to five times, gradually increasing the infusion time[1]. When using a 1 liter kettle, it is optimal to add 1.5 tablespoons of tea.

Health benefits

Yunnan white tea is known for its antioxidant properties, helps in the fight against free radicals and promotes rejuvenation of the body. It is also useful for the prevention of dental and gum diseases.

This tea is ideal for use in hot weather due to its cooling effect and can be an excellent choice for evening tea drinking without causing wakefulness before bedtime.
